1 Inch Supraspinatus Rotator Cuff Tear

1 Inch Supraspinatus Rotator Cuff Tear

There are four different muscles in the rotator cuff that are often called the SITS muscles. This anagram refers to the first letters in the muscle names: Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres minor, and Subcapularis. The supraspinatus is the muscle most often affected in a degenerative rotator cuff tear.

The supraspinatus is the most important muscle of the rotator cuff. Supraspinatus muscle starts from the scapula and stretches up to the humerus and the acromion is very close to this muscle. Most of the rotator cuff tear and impingement happen with this muscle. The main function of this muscle is the abduction of the arm.

The role of the subscapularis muscle is prominent in the movement of the humerus and the elevation of the arm which requires depressing of the humerus head. Lateral motion of the arm is facilitated by the infraspinatus and teres minor muscles.

Stem cell therapy is now an alternative therapy for partial tears of the rotator cuff. At Regenexx patients are able to use their own stem cells to repair partial tears in tendons and ligaments. Regenexx is a simple needle-in, needle-out procedure which enables patients to forgo surgery and the extensive rehabilitative process typically associated with rotator cuff.

One can also get a supraspinatus massage. Lets watch this view about the great massage to might be working in healing your 1 inch supraspinatus rotator cuff tear
